Exhibit
Light Up Kelowna invites artists, designers, filmmakers, and creative technologists to propose work for a series of public-facing digital and media-based exhibition platforms across downtown Kelowna. The program supports both emerging and established artists interested in presenting work in highly visible, non-traditional exhibition contexts.
Exhibition Opportunities – Update
Thank you for your interest in sharing your work with Light Up Kelowna. As we move through a period of transition, we are pausing exhibition programming over the summer and are not currently accepting proposals or meeting requests.
We look forward to reconnecting in Fall 2026, when new opportunities may become available. Please check back for updates.

The Urban Screens outside the Kelowna Community Theatre offer a high-visibility platform for video, animation, and moving-image work. Located in downtown Kelowna, the screens present work to a broad public audience throughout the evening. Artists are encouraged to propose visually engaging pieces that consider scale, rhythm, and the experience of viewing in a public, outdoor setting.

The gobo light projections use four fixed projection points to cast imagery and patterns directly onto the Art Walk. This format supports light-based, graphic, or abstract visual work that enhances the nighttime experience of the walkway. Artists should consider visibility, contrast, and how the imagery is experienced as people move through the space.
-
Sound installations along the Art Walk accompany the gobo light projections, adding an ambient audio layer to the nighttime experience. This format supports subtle, non-intrusive sound works that complement the projected visuals and the flow of pedestrian traffic. Artists should consider volume, repetition, and how sound interacts with an outdoor public setting.
